On June 28, 2023, as many of you are aware; the Senior Center Program was temporarily closed due to a hazard identification of a mechanical failure; identified in the Propane Tanks located within the Senior Center Program.

On June 29, 2023, the office of the Tribal Administrator submitted a requisition for repair the replacement parts identified by AmeriGas. During this time, unfortunately, the replacement parts were on back order; which caused, the delay in properly fixing the Propane Tanks to ensure the overall Health and Safety of our Senior Center Participants, Employee, and the Senior Center Building.

On August 03, 2023, the hazard identification has been repaired in accordance with the
AmeriGas Consumer and Safety Regulations; and it is with great joy, to express to the Senior Center Participants; the office of the Tribal Administrator. has received a "Clearance" from the Imperial County Fire Department on August 04, 2023, in accordance with the statues and
regulations; the Propane Tanks located within the Senior Center Program are deemed safe, and no leaks have been identified.

Therefore, the Quechan Senior Center Program will re-open to normal business hours on August 07, 2023 for Breakfast and Lunch.

In addition, on August 02, 2023, the office of the Tribal Administrator has been informed; our Senior Center Participants have expressed several concerns to the Health and Safety of utilizing Propane and its operation of use.

On August 02, 2023, the office of the Tribal Administrator has requested an analysis of review to explore the option in utilizing the use of electric appliances within the Senior Center Program.

In closing, on behalf of the Tribal Administrator; I would like to express my gratitude for your support and understanding in the Health and Safety of our Senior Center Program. In the meantime, as identified by the Imperial County Fire Department on August 04, 2023, the Quechan Senior Center Program has been deemed safe for operations; therefore, I look forward to seeing you on August 07, 2023 at 8:00 AM for Breakfast and Lunch.
