It is with sincere sadness and grief that we acknowledge the unexpected passing of Irwin Twist, esteemed Cocopah Council Member. Mr. Twist was more than just a fellow Tribal Leader; he was a beacon of strength and advocacy for Tribal Sovereignty, always pushing forward with a positive vision for his community and offering many great ideas that will continue to inspire us all.

Irwin Twist was a veteran, and his unwavering support for our tribal veteran's ceremonies was deeply valued and respected. His presence at these events not only honored the sacrifices of our service members but also strengthened the bonds between our communities.

During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, the Cocopah community, and his fellow council members. We stand in solidarity with them, sharing in their sorrow and honoring the legacy of a remarkable leader and advocate.
