Quechan Tribal Council Address to Membership

On Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at approx. 06:24pm. We experienced a Microburst which damaged 68 Imperial Irrigation District (IID) electric poles and lines, over 845 households within the boundaries of the Quechan Indian Reservation and surrounding areas are affected. The IID staff is currently working on replacing damaged lines and restoring power to the affected homes.

The Cooling Center located at the Paradise Casino Event Center is available for temporary sheltering, and is open around the clock until further notice. The Yuma Area Red Cross team, Paradise Casino Staff and Quechan Tribal Staff are on hand to assist, water, snacks and cots are available.

The Quechan Indian Tribe is continuing to work with Local and State agencies in Unified Command while restoration is in progress, we sympathize with you all, as this event affected our entire Community.
