QPD Participates In 2017 Law Enforcement Torch Run For Special Olympics
Officer Hemmer, Officer Hernandez and Chief Nerva participated in this event representing the Quechan Police Department.
The Torch Run began in San Luis, Arizona and finished at the Yuma Quatermaster Depot State Historic Park. Torch Bearers carried the torch along the US 95 highway. The torch run continued through Thursday, with the Special Olympics Arizona Summer Games opening ceremony scheduled on Friday, May 5. QPD participated in leg 5 of the relay with the Flame of Hope making its way from Yuma to Glendale.
